The full event will take place throughout the entire day (Tuesday, February 11, 2025) in the NYS Legislative Office Building (LOB) & Capitol (CAP)

Breakfast Reception space and our “home base” for the day was generously secured by

Registration is at 8:15 – 8:30 a.m. with a complimentary continental breakfast.

Think of this reception as an “open house” to engage with Legislators and their staff.

A welcome by Assemblymember Paulin will begin our program at promptly 9 a.m.  

She will formally welcome participants and discuss her commitment to New York’s hospice and palliative care community and her vision for New York’s future in this complex care space.

We thank Assemblymember Paulin and her staff for their strong, ongoing support of hospice and palliative care in NYS.

A press event will be held in the Capitol at 11 a.m. with Assembly Member Amy Paulin regarding the bill to protect NYS’s not-for-profit hospice providers

As with all other in-person advocacy events in the past, you will be receiving your individualized schedule at registration.

A reminder that these events can be unpredictable, and we do everything within our control to try to make everything go according to plan. Having said that, some pivoting will likely be required based on the fluid schedule and demands placed on the legislators. This plays out in real time.

Advocacy materials you need will be provided in your

2025 HPCANYS Budget Advocacy-in-Action Day Folders.

Please remember to bring information or materials from your hospice that you would like to provide in your scheduled meetings, but the event is focused on the collective advocacy of the Association and the needs of the overall NYS hospice and palliative care industry. Your experiences and stories are important in making a connection with the legislators and their staff.

• As a reminder, lunch is on your own in between meetings. There are options that would not require having to go through security screening a second time that we will be sharing in your folders.
  
• A HPCANYS team member will be onsite in the meeting room throughout the day to assist with any questions and provide support.
• We suggest you arrive early enough to assure timely passage through security.
• Pro-tip: wear comfortable shoes.
• Please keep in mind the pace and pivoting often required of the in-person lobby days.
• We will be sending out an invitation for a virtual debriefing to be held later the first week of February
